- Typical performance or expectations of water based sealer in Florida (what the competition is not telling you). After we demobilize your pavers will look amazing! Over the next 2 to 5 months your pavers could be slippery when wet. Between months 6 to month 15 the enhancement feature (darkening of the pavers) will gradually start to fade, but your pavers will still be protected. Between months 16 to 24 it may appear there is no sealer left on the pavers as the top coat will mostly be worn off, but do not forget the flood coat (first sealer application) which is probably 2 times the volume of the finish coat was absorbed into the face of your pavers. In some cases the wearing process could take 3 years between maintenance coats, but on average sealing jobs it’s a 2 year wearing process.
- We do not recommend polymeric sand to be swept in-between paver joints unless your joints are 3/4” wide and larger. If applicable: Pre-existing polymeric sand installed over long periods of time often becomes hard as the concrete paver itself. Polymeric sand becomes integrally molded over time and in most circumstances we would need to match the existing sand color in order to provide a uniform appearance.
- All concrete and/or brick pavers to be sanded within 1/8” to 1/4” below the chamfered edge. No Exceptions.
- Most joints in-between travertine are tight “butt” joints. Unfortunately a square stone-on-stone butt joint will not allow much, if any sand in-between. We will install sand in-between travertine where possible.
- The best advice I can give to a home Owner interested to know how their pavers are going to look after being sealed is to simply spray your entire paver area with water. Unsealed pavers or pavers that need to be resealed will significantly darken when wet. Wetting your pavers with water will also expose all of the existing blemishes like mud stains, oil stains, rust, tire shine or wheel cleaner stains. Often times the pavers installed on your driveway can be from different batch mixes (or dye lots) which look uniform when unsealed and dry, but once they are wet they can be two different colors. If you like the way your pavers look when they are wet then you will love paver sealing.
- Pool Deck Paver Sealing – It is recommended to schedule pool cleaning service the day after paver sealing. Sand along with small amounts of sealer will get into the pool and your pool filter will need to be thoroughly cleaned. It is also recommended to lower your pools water to about 2” above the bottom of the pool skimmer to help minimize the amount of sealer that gets into the pool. We apply sealer to pool deck copings with the “sock method” which significantly reduces the amount of sealer overspray into the pool. If you pool water level is high then our applicator sock will release more sealer into the pool water.
- Pavers with set in mud stains can be extremely difficult to remove if at all. If the customer can see a significant amount of mud stains when their pavers are wet then you will most definitely see them after they have been sealed. A wonderful benefit of sealer is its ability to ENHANCE the color of pavers to bring out their natural beauty, if you have mud stains they will be significantly enhanced.
- Our Minimum Charge for paver sealing is $1,800.00. All pricing is based on one (2) mobilizations. We encourage customers to select all options priced for impactful curb appeal.
- Home Owner Expectations: Rust Stain Removal is not included, often times rust stains cannot be seen until you have had your property pressure washed. Rust stains can be removed so please ask about pricing. Complete Oil Stain removal is rare.
- Be sure to edge your grass before your scheduled cleaning service—grass grows fast! During our paver sealing review site visit, we always check the area before providing a quote and recommend edging the grass along your pavers. Since some customers wait weeks or even months before moving forward with the service, it’s important to edge your grass a few days before we arrive to ensure the best results.
