When pressure washing a driveway always start at the bottom and work your way up

Next time you attempt pressure washing your driveway make sure you start at the lowest point of the driveway. So for most of us that’s down at the curbing near the street. 

• When using a wand (or a surface cleaner) always start at the lowest point and work your way up to higher elevations.
• Cleaning a driveway of dirt, mold, and general grime will create a sludge of mud/silt/sand that will take forever to rinse off. 
• When you start pressure washing at the highest point and rinse as you work your way down the sludge creates a barrier. You will end up spending more time rinsing than pressure washing.

The internet is full of pressure washing “experts” telling you to always start at the top of your driveway. The “Start at the Top” Myth (That Actually Makes Your Life Worse)

Their reasoning? “You don’t want dirty water running over the parts you just cleaned.” Yeah… it sounds logical. But here’s what actually happens: You push all that nasty sludge downhill and it piles up like a filthy dam. Now you’re not just rinsing a wall of mud that moves at a glacial pace.
