Note: The painters tape is to prevent water and/or cleaning chemicals from entering the key hole. In my early years of washing homes I received some complaints that customers key locks were not properly operating. A simple puff of graphite lubricant resolves this issue, but it’s just an extra step I use to ensure no call backs regarding key hole locks. Have not had one call back regarding stuck locks since 2015.
