Pressure Washing Stucco
Cleaning of stucco siding most often requires a softwash solution application in order to remove all embedded organic staining. Some stucco finishes are extremely porous and thus chemical post treatments are common. Not to worry the softwash chemical treatments are gently applied so you never have to worry about us etching your stucco finish. Check out the awesome gallery of our pressure washing stucco cleaning before and after pictures.
One will notice after viewing our stucco cleaning before and after pictures that mold and algae can really grow rampant on this delicate surface. After cleaning thousands of stucco homes in Jacksonville and St Johns County over the years I can count on one hand the customers that do not have any stucco damage. We do not recommend cleaning stucco with a high pressure tip. In the picture gallery make note of all the stucco corners d.i.y. home owners have damaged. The first thing we look for when getting ready to wash a stucco house is prior existing damages. Gouges, cracks, etching, and staining are the first pictures we take.
For those of you that do not know architectural stucco details are built out of FOAM. Stucco is often times a build up of brown coat, scratch coat, and a finish coat over wire lath. Those 3 layers might feel like concrete when knocking your knuckles over it, but that system is quite thin in comparison to brick or block homes. Spraying your stucco siding with high pressure will damage the finish. You will not be able to pressure wash the entire exterior of stucco without damaging an area or two. If you were fortunate enough to clean it without any damages it’s just a matter of time.
When you do blow out a chunk of stucco it’s going to be right around the front entrance. Leave your stucco home cleaning to the exterior cleaning professionals.
