Hardie Board House Wash
House Pressure Washing Services For Your Siding
If you look at the James Hardie Board website they have a webpage on general cleaning instructions. At the beginning of the maintenance website, their instructions tell you to start with water and a soft bristle brush. This method might be fine for homes up North, however low-pressure water and a soft brush in Florida will not yield quality cleaning results. Also, one would have to ask the question are they talking about cleaning bare Hardie plank siding, or a painted Hardie plank home? We’ve cleaned thousands of Hardie board homes and they were all painted. Please take a moment to flip thru our Hardie board house wash picture gallery. Our house pressure washing services will restore your homes exterior.
Durability
There are hundreds of pictures to view. While viewing the gallery make note of the actual sidings integrity vs. adjacent wood trim, soffits, fascia, and window frames. You will notice that the hardie board itself is darn near indestructible. I never see any warping, delamination, or swelling of the cement fiber material.
Home builders of long ago utilized natural wood to trim out the windows and doors on older homes. Now even the trim on newer homes is cement siding. As can be seen in the before and after pictures every other material on the older homes shows their age. The older homes wood trim is rotting, the coatings on the vinyl soffit tracks and even the fascia trim have started to peel away in areas. If you have ever lived in the stucco home for any amount of time then you see those cracks and non-uniformity of the finish. If don’t have any issues with your stucco homes finish just wait.
Hardie Board House Wash As Often As You Like
The manufacturer goes a bit further to recommend cleaning your Hardie board every 6 to 12 months so Im not going to complain here. Our family has owned a Hardie board plank exterior home for the last 7 years. Hands down it is the best and most durable substrate and I have owned them all. Personally, I softwash the front elevation of our house 5 or more times per year. Looks absolutely brand new every time after I am done. So if you do the math Ive softwashed our front elevation over 35 times in 7 years! I only spray the sides and rear once per year because the sides I never see and we installed a screen enclosure around or pool so that prevent bugs and animals from roaming the exterior walls in
